Here is an example of frustration personified--I am constantly opening files for the sole purpose of finding out the subject of a particular file. Sure the file name's supposed to give me a clue, but sometimes it's vague and there have been times when I've opened it only to discover I can't recollect the reason for such a file. I've overcome this aggravation by annotating my files. It takes but half a minute and has saved me countless hours of opening and closing files. Here's what to do: Point to the file to annotate, but do not open it. While highlighted, press ALT-ENTER to display its properties and choose the Summary tab.
Click on Comments and type your notation in the pop-up box, then click OK until the panels are closed.
To see the results, open My Computer and go to the location of the file that has been
