Conrad Weiser High School Wellness Homeroom Wellness Homeroom Program: Mrs. Fuhrman and Mrs. Rachman Weiser Walkers Conrad Weiser High School walkers are making great strides towards increasing daily physical activity. Since September 2005, approximately 100 students chose to walk twice a week for 15 minutes during MPP. The Wellness Homeroom consists of 20 students. Each student in the homeroom is assigned as a representative to other homerooms. Their objective is to encourage students from their assigned homerooms to walk. Once they get the walkers, the real job begins. The representatives record the walkers’ name and keep a tally of the number of times they walk. Upon walking 4 times, the walkers receive a chain and a plastic colored foot. After 4 feet, the student walkers receive a plastic thumbs up. This helps motivate the students to walk on a regular basis. In addition to the walking program, the students in this homeroom assist in taste testing some of the new healthier products that are being introduced to the cafeteria. The feedback they provide helps the food service director make choices that students may like.
