Several students in the FFA chapter at Conrad Weiser High School were winners in the Agriscience Fair Competition during the 2021 Pennsylvania Farm Show, a virtual celebration of agriculture which ended Sunday.
First-place winners included teammates Lisa Kesselring and Lydia Kern (plant systems); Kylee Moyer as an individual (plant systems); Colin Werner as an individual (power, structural and technical systems); teammates Hailey Huyett and Kate Nye (power, structural and technical systems); Erin Horack as an individual (environmental services/natural resource systems); Alysa Rodriguez team (animal systems); and Selia Werth as an individual (animal systems).
Students submitted written research in advance and then presented their projects for remote judging via video conference during Farm Show week, Jan. 9-16.
These first-place finishes qualified them for the national FFA competition. For complete results from the Agriscience Fair, visit farmshow.pa.gov. (from the Reading Eagle)
