Mrs. Chelius's class worked hard over the last couple weeks to plan a kindness party for the school. This will take place on Friday, February 10th. Students will enjoy pizza, ice cream, and a movie during their lunch period! It includes a spirit day - wear the jersey/tee/colors of the Super Bowl team you will cheer for! We are looking forward to kicking off our kindness week with this Friday fun🎉

We are having some issues with the drop-off line in the morning. Please make sure that you are doing the following to ensure the safety of all of our students and staff: 1. Please stay in your vehicle at all times; parents should not exit the car! 2. Allow your child only to exit the car on the CURB side. 3. Please pull forward all the way, so traffic does not back up! National School Counseling Week 2023 (Feb. 6-10), sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), highlights the essential contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and the tremendous impact they have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. On Friday, Mrs. Whalen's class filled their class pompom jar 👏 👏 and earned some time to play board games 🎲♟. The board games helped the students learn how to play together, take turns, follow directions, and have fun! #WeAreWeiser

Mrs. Wertz’s class completed a Math Fact Road Challenge 🗺 👏 👏 , and celebrated with lunch and ice cream 🍨 in the classroom on Friday. During lunch, students also participated in a Kahoot about the science 🧪 🔬 of ice cream 🍦 . The math fact fluency challenge was a fun way to help students learn and master multiplication facts as well as build fact fluency. Each week, students traveled to a different state across the USA 🇺🇸 to master a different fact family. #WeAreWeiser

Happy Friday! 🥜 🧈 & 🍇 = 🥪 Beginning on Monday, January 30th we will begin offering Kindergarten students two entree options at lunch. Students will be offered choice A or peanut butter and jelly. All other parts of the meal are the same each day. Have a great weekend!

Today we needed to use a HOLD Protocol in the building due to a medical emergency. Your child was safe/not in danger at any time. The HOLD protocol is used if there is a need to keep the hallways clear. The goal of a HOLD is to “hold in your classroom or area”. Please remind your child that these drills are to ensure their safety. As always, our primary goal is to keep your child(ren) safe and to keep you informed as a parent.

Lukas Rodriguez, a second grader in Mrs. Schweigert’s 2nd grade class traded in his tickets 🎟️ to “Chat with Chief”. Lukas and Chief patrolled the halls and even wrote up a report (according to the report, some teachers looked a little bit suspicious, especially Mrs. Schweigert 😂) A huge thank you to Chief for supporting our students at West! #WeAreWeiser
