To all of our volunteers for Walk for Weiser this Friday, please be sure to fill out an Early Dismissal Form if you plan on taking your child home with you at the end of the day. It's important that we know dismissal plans before Friday. Thank you!

Last week Mrs. Sweigart's second grade and Mr. Long's Kindergarten classes got together for their first Book Buddies experience this year. Together they made pumpkins and had a great time together! #WeAreWeiser

Last week Miss Greenwood's third grade class and Miss Lutz's Kindergarten class got together to have their first Book Buddies event of the year! Looks like they had a great time getting to know each other! #WeAreWeiser

We just had a big round of harvesting today! some fresh Kale, Swiss Chard, Buttercrunch Lettuce, and Oak Leaf Lettuce are all available in our freedge on a first come first serve basis! We also had an anonymous donation of some baked fruit bars in the shelving section as well for anyone interested! #WeAreWeiser

Hello, Conrad Weiser East Families!

We are a few days away from our annual Walk for Weiser Event, together we have raised over $22,205 to date! We have so much to celebrate! Here are some details about the event.

Walk Day: Friday, October 17th

Parents/families are welcome to attend Walk for Weiser. You can join in the fun too! Come dance, walk, and enjoy the walk with your children.

Parking

Visitors can park on the side streets off the Hain Avenue entrance and the baseball field parking lot. It is important that no one parks in any reserved parking spots.

Visitor and Volunteer Check-in

All visitors and volunteers must sign in at the check-in table, located in the front of the school. You will receive a visitor’s name tag to wear while you are at the event. Volunteers will be there to answer your questions.

Restrooms

There is a port a potty located on the baseball field that will be open. Visitors will not be allowed in the building to access restrooms.

Walk Day T-Shirts

Friday’s forecast looks like it will be a beautiful day. In the upper fields it tends to be windy, please have your children dress appropriately. We recommend wearing sneakers and a long sleeve t-shirt so that students can put their walk day t-shirts over top of their clothing. On Friday morning, after announcements students will receive a walk day t-shirt.

Rain Plan:

If the weather does not allow for us to be outdoors, the walk will be moved indoors. Unfortunately, we will not be able to have parent visitors inside the building unless they are already signed up to volunteer with clearances. Thank you for your understanding.

Walk for Weiser Schedule by Grade:

Please check out the walk schedule so you know when your student is walking.

*The last 10-15 minutes of the walk schedule includes the full grade dance party.

Top 20 Spots

The cut off time for the top 20 spots is, October 16th at 12am. The 20th spot is currently at $275.00! On 10/21, these students will earn the reward of a mobile petting zoo experience!

Weiser family, we've got some work to do!! We have raised 54% of our goal and the walk is just 1 week away!! There is still time to get more donations. Share your pages, have family & friends share, send emails, texts, make some phone calls. Cash & checks can still be sent in to the school as well. We really want to reach our goal and have the kids enjoy a glow dance party!! Beyond that, this is how the PTO is funded for the year, and how we are able to have fun events like author visits, assemblies, book bingo, etc. Please keep sharing and together we can make it happen! #WeAreWeiser

Our visiting author/illustrator, Lee Harper, will be at East on November 18th! If you are interested in purchasing a book written or illustrated by Lee Harper, please fill out the book order form that went home with your child earlier this week. All book orders are due no later than October 21st.
