This is a promotional flyer for winter clinics hosted by Conrad Weiser Youth Field Hockey. These clinics will occur on 11/17, 12/8, 1/12, 1/26, and 2/16 from 9:30-11am in the Middle School Gym. 🌙🌳 CWMS Moon Tree Planting 🌙🌳 On Friday, October 25, Conrad Weiser Middle School received a “Moon Tree” from NASA. 🚀We are just one of a few hundred locations in the United States that had the honor of planting this tree on our campus. The ceremony included a special performance from the CWMS Select Chorus and several speakers. 🤔 What is a Moon Tree? In 1971, the Apollo 14 mission to the Moon carried a variety of tree seeds with them on their voyage. Once they returned to Earth, the United States Forest Service (USFS) germinated and cared for the seedlings until they were ready to be distributed across the country. Many of the original Moon Trees still stand today! In 2022, the Artemis 1 mission traveled around the Moon with more tree seeds, which were also germinated and cared for by the USFS. The Moon Tree will stand tall in front of CWMS as a testament to our nation’s ingenuity, curiosity, and perseverance. Let it be an inspiration to all of our future scientists and stewards of our land! Today CWMS 6th grade students planted a Moon Tree. You may be wondering, “What is a Moon Tree??” In 1971, the Apollo 14 mission to the Moon carried a variety of tree seeds with them on their voyage. Once they returned to Earth, the United States Forest Service (USFS) germinated and cared for the seedlings until they were ready to be distributed across the country. Many of the original Moon Trees still stand today! In 2022, the Artemis I mission traveled around the Moon with more tree seeds, which were also germinated and cared for by the USFS. In October 2023, NASA’s Office of STEM Engagement and NASA’s Artifact Module received over 1,300 applications from schools, communities, and other institutions to become a steward of a Moon Tree seedling. CWMS’s application was chosen, and we will become part of a national legacy! "Good morning, Below you will find the registration link for the 2024-2025 MatClub Wrestling and Cheer Season. You will notice an increase in the registration fee as well as the breakdown this is due to adding in the duals raffle tickets again this year just like we did 2 years ago. Once your student sells their tickets you keep the money as you have already paid for them. This is very comparable to how other programs in the district do their fundraising as well. Also we are hoping to start open gym’s sometime the 1st week of November however, we are still waiting on confirmation as to when we have availability from the school so for now our start date is TBD.
